Half-year financial results for Aristocrat Leisure Limited are encouraging

Despite the interruption caused by the coronavirus epidemic, the Australian gaming machines developer Aristocrat Leisure Limited allegedly posted a net profit of $269 million for the six months ending in March.

According to Inside Asian Gaming, the Sydney-based company reported an increase in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of 6% year-on-year to approximately $584.7 million, with an increase in net profit after tax but before amortisation of 12%, to approximately $321.1 million. 'Stronger than projected consumer mood and economic conditions' in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand were cited by the developer as reasons for the uptick in business, along with 'excellent product performance and customer interaction,' according to the cited source.

Significant financial reward:

Two months after agreeing to pay $31 million to resolve two American class-action lawsuits involving its subsidiary Big Fish Games Incorporated, Aristocrat Leisure Limited has released its financial results. In 2017, an Australian firm bought Churchill Downs Inc., a company that had been sued in Washington state for providing internet gambling services in violation of state law.

According to reports, Aristocrat Leisure Limited CEO Trevor Croker attributed the year-over-year increases in profit and revenues to 'above industry-average growth in bookings.' Aristocrat Leisure Limited is the parent company of American gaming machines behemoth Aristocrat Technologies Incorporated. He also allegedly claimed that his firm's "diverse portfolio of world-class titles" and its "strong investment in user acquisition, live ops, new game content and features" contributed to "overall demand remaining elevated."

According to Croker, Aristocrat Leisure Limited is keeping a close eye on a number of "key factors," including "consumer sentiment, gaming venue patronage, and currency headwinds," as it anticipates that global economic conditions will "remain uncertain" for the remainder of the year due to "ongoing coronavirus-driven volatility."

Supposedly, Croker said something like 

Over the course of the second half of the fiscal year, "we will continue to rigorously execute our strategy with increased investment in design and development, user acquisition to support new game launches and existing games," and "strategic capabilities that will sustain our longer-term growth."
